JACKPOINT

jackpoint's music never fails to captivate an
audience. With driving guitar grooves, blistering drumming style and smooth
intense vocal delivery, this Auckland-based three-piece band offers a
superb array of original songs. Twin bro's Robin and Gareth
Killip, along with Adrian Hollay, make up the power trio
jackpoint. Robin thrives on his guitar, a creative outlet of
big chord rock melodies and energy. Robin is also the voice behind
jackpoint. Gareth's drumming style is dynamic and powerful,
keeping the flow going at all times. Adrian adds depth to the band
with his great bass grooves and laid-back attitude. Robin and Gareth,
from Auckland NZ, have had much experience in the NZ music scene. Members
of former West-Auckland metal band Omen, they are used to the music
scene and are accomplished musicians. Adrian, from Stuttgart Germany,
is a gifted guitar and bass player. He joined jackpoint in April
2004 and has enabled the band to develop and evolve into a much
more established act. With a positive approach and a 100% commitment,
jackpoint is definitely an exciting band to discover. Regarded as a band
with no fuss playing for the love of the music, they often grasp attention
while performing live around Auckland gig venues. Their EP release show
is surely their most-achieved gig to date. Organised at Dogs Bollix last
April and attracting over 200 people, their performance was simply breathtaking.
Their self-funded 6 track EP Lets Go Where? including a 7th track
on video is now available from all Real Groovy NZ stores. Check out www.jackpoint.co.nz
for event updates and reviews. And if you have a chance, check jackpoint
live out. You won't be disappointed.
