The Jaggernauts

The Jaggernauts are an indie rock out from Eau Clare, USA. Their self-titled debut album has been released in the states by Krapp Records and here in New Zealand by Powertool Records. Great riffs, punchy lyrics and songs that would sit nicely on a Guided By Voices record. Songs from smalltown America and about being a small fish in a very large pond.

Reviews and Articles

The Big Takeover Magazine Review: The Jaggernauts - The Lucio Fluci EP By Jack Rabid Call them the Jaggernuts. Or so the first song, "Lucio Fluci", a tribute to the film director of Zombie, makes them seem. "Who'll win the battle 'tween the shark and the zombie? Only Lucio Fluci knows," they sing in drunken hootenanny mode, leaving us all hanging. The three other songs are more conventional. "Wings, Blah, Blah, Blah" isjust electric guitar, vocal, and shaker, like a good Bob Mould solo gig when he plays without the drum machine. Along the same line, "Slow" is a cover of the song by Mould's Wisconsin contemporaries Die Kreuzen, only actually slow this time, so it sounds a lot like Generation X offshoot Empire or Killing Joke's Geordie. Lastly, "Beauty Salon" adds some piano to beautify the impression of a Husker Du demo. They might want a bassist or drummer if they ever come out of the basement, but I like normal stuff that's somehow weird, and I liked this.
