The Auckland four piece formed in early 2002 after vocalist Clinton Bell returned home from Austin, Texas. While living in the Lone Star state Clinton absorbed himself in the alt country talent that was on offer and wanted to bring some of those straightforward song writing ideas back home. He quickly found guitarist Chris Dickinson who suggested they head to his bach on the beautiful Mangawhai heads for a weekend song writing session. Several songs came from that getaway and it was time to get a band together. Bass player Brendan Coyle, originally from Melbourne, joined the band along with South African born drummer Tyron Reyes. The mix of different of cultures and upbringings of each member helps creatively in the bands music, even though they now consider themselves 'Kiwis'. It has been said that the bands style is in the vein of Ryan Adams, The Finn brothers and Gomez. Two songs from "The Sunrise Sessions" ep have made it onto the NZ on Air Indie Hit Disc and the self funded video for "Shining Star" has been aired on TV One's programme Hum and has also received support from C4. Their debut EP is out in shops in May courtesy of distribution through Powertool Records. "The Sunrise Sessions" is about to hit a venue near you. The guys look forward to seeing you there.
