Influential singer-songwriter Sarah Dougher has released her extensive body of work on K Records, Kill Rock Stars and Mr Lady Records among others. Her three solo albums received rave reviews from publications including The New York Times, Spin, The Village Voice, the New Yorker and NME. She has toured the US, Europe and Australia, playing shows with Sleater-Kinney, Elliott Smith, Ted Leo and Cat Power among others. In 2001 she was invited to play a month long residency at New York's renowned Knitting Factory, where every show was sold out. Her latest record, 'Harper's Arrow' is out now, and she is starting work on her fifth full-length solo record. PRESS "With her deep, resonant delivery and a lyrical landscape filled with paeans to love and endurance, Dougher is one of the most impressive voices to come out of the urban folk-rock landscape in years, indie or otherwise." San Francisco Chronicle " 'The Bluff' is a spellbinding album...... Dougher's songs are finely wrought, with pop-classicist melodies even more eloquent than their extended metaphors." The Village Voice " 'The Walls Ablaze' is as impassioned an album as anyone released last year. Her third and latest album, 'The Bluff' is a long, wild leap into even stronger music with songs that are hot out of the box" New York Times " Dougher's folk rock reveals a warmth and humour....wonderfully touching....this record burns with a low, steady flame' Entertainment Weekly |
