FRR001: The Dark Beaks - Spill Your Heart (CD Album) 2006

The Dark Beaks are a 3-piece from Dunedin, New Zealand featuring the talents of guitar-pop-savant Andrew Jamieson. He’s been quietly accumulating a vast song library since the demise of Munky Kramp in the mid ‘90’s. In addition to vocals he plays guitar and coaxes all colours of sound from his collection of obscure vintage NZ-made valve amplifiers.

US: $13.95

NZ: $20.00

PT027: Dragstrip - The Holy Loner and the Crystal Drifter (EP) 2005

The music of Dragstrip has been described variously as “New Zealand horror stories” and “beat-poetry”. Dragstrip himself says, “I enjoy creating images that are at once familiar and discomforting”

US: $7.95

NZ: $10.00

CR004: Dead Pan Rangers - Not much less further than last time (EP) 2005

Offering a somewhat distinctive variation on the indie guitar genre the music has been described as melodic guitar lines contrasting with (sometimes) sinister vocals and the odd analogue synthesizer moment. Influences are varied and include Flying Nun greats, early Mercury Rev, and Pavement. When it comes to labeling themselves, they have only got as far as "experimentally skewed indie pop".

US: $7.95

NZ: $10.00
