VOCODER
![]() |
Wellington three piece Vocoder transform their energetic scissor-kicking, instrument thrashing live style into their new full length "It Should Have Been So Easy". A sound that variously been described as "surf inspired alt-rock with huge lashings of eighties new wave pop. Their BFM number one single "Collapsed Stars" is included in this collection that has been released on their own label Rock-O-Tronic. Popboomerang who released their last EP have deemed this album "too rock" for the fledging Aussie pop label. Press: "Fizzing like the Buzzcocks on a caffiene high. Vocoder has energy and scissor-kicks to burn". Real Groove Magazine "Full of clever rhythms and undeniably catchy choruses..... fierce pop salutes with a fuzzed out '76 punk core. The best bits will hit you like a train on subsequent listens. Splendidzine (USA) "Punky harmonic pop from the wilds of New Zealand. Combines some nice 80's wave sounds with more rock bite... Hints of early REM and Velvet Underground. Big Takeover (USA) |
